marketing trends following us into 2025
The world of marketing is changing faster than ever, and staying on top of trends is essential for brands to stay competitive. Lucky for you, we’re on the pulse of trends and here to keep you on track. Here are a few key trends that we think we could see in 2025:

For years, celebrities have been sought out to advertise products to their fans. Today, online users look for authenticity and trustworthiness vs. status and money when it comes to shopping. Micro-Influencers (content creators with smaller but very active followings) are likely more relatable than an A-list, or even B-list, celebrity.
For example, Darcy McQueeny, a TikTok influencer, receives multiple PR packages a week and makes videos on the brands/products she supports, convincing her audience of college-aged girls that it will work for them based on her experience and opinion.

Video content is taking over the marketing world. This is not a new trend as this has been becoming increasingly popular since 2020. Popular platforms like TikTok, Instagram Reels, and Youtube Shorts are causing brands to prioritize video content to connect with their audience even better. Video content helps tell a story that keeps viewers engaged.
In 2025, this trend will continue to grow as more and more brands jump on board, and advances in video will be huge compared to years past.

Regular advertisements are no longer enough to capture an audience (as mentioned briefly in our point above). Interactive content such as polls, quizzes, and augmented reality experiences will thrive in 2025. This is due to audiences looking for memorable brand experiences and engagement. Interactive content allows for deeper audience participation which leads to more engagement and hopefully brand loyalty.
You’ve totally seen the new commercials on streaming where you get to pick what type of ad you want to be served. Yeah, that’s interactive marketing for you.

Just like looking for authenticity and relatability in an influencer, most audiences are now looking for brands that align with their values, especially in cases of sustainability. We’ve been seeing this trend consistently increase from 2023. But in 2025, marketing teams will need to focus their attention on more purpose-driven campaigns.
Brands should not only highlight what their products are, but also how it will make a positive impact on our environment and/or society. For example, The Flora Flora Company, a small hair care business, prides themselves on being better for your hair and the planet. They’re honest about turning down large company offers to partner with because they don’t align with their sustainability beliefs. They follow up by explaining what their packaging is made of and what they put into their products. The authenticity of their video is what will gain an audience’s loyalty and trust.

AI has crept its way into the marketing world, creating mixed opinions through the field. And to be perfectly honest, we were skeptical at first. But there is definitely a place for AI in the marketing space. However, this marketing trends needs to tread lightly, as there are a lot of marketers and consumers alike who are getting very savvy to spotting when AI was used (in captions, long-form copy, etc.).
AI tools are being used to write pitches, track social media analytics, analyze audiences, you name it. This new tool allows for brands to make content in a faster, more concise way. However, while the tool still has a lot to learn, we do think that it will be more advanced in 2025.
